DESCRIPTION:

EFAarquitectes, together with Grup Portes, won the public design competition commissioned by the Sabadell City Council to draft the Basic and Executive Project and is currently overseeing the construction works.

• Project area: 12,664.31 m²

The project transforms the void created by the undergrounding of the FGC railway into a new linear park that reconnects the neighborhoods of Can Feu and Gràcia, linking the Can Feu Forest with the city center of Sabadell. The intervention turns the former urban barrier into a green, accessible corridor that integrates nature, sustainable mobility, and leisure areas.

The space is conceived as a naturalized promenade, with permeable surfaces, native vegetation, and rain gardens that improve water management and biodiversity. The layout is organized in layers of pathways, rest areas, and vegetation zones, combining shaded areas, playgrounds, and spaces for sports and cultural activities.

With this intervention, Sabadell gains a new place for community and well-being, designed to encourage contact with nature, strengthen neighborhood cohesion, and create a true metropolitan green axis.
